それは出版業界が厳しい状態だからです。
わたしも10年以上、出版業界に身を置いてきました。
記者、編集、営業をすべて経験しています。
業界全体の売上は毎年5%ずつ、
落ち込んでいます。
もっとも厳しいのが雑誌です。

これは朝日新聞出版やAERAだけではなく、
他の雑誌も同じような落ち込みです。
発行部数の落ち込みは販売収入の減少に
つながっています。
雑誌は広告収入もあります。
こちらもネット広告に食われています。

そのひとつが、ネットでの記事の配信です。
雑誌の編集部は人を雇えなくなっています。
その人材を、ネット部門に振り分けるのです。
私が在籍した出版社も雑誌を数十誌、
出していました。
10年ほど前は、紙の雑誌に載せた記事を、
ネットニュースに転載していました。
それがここ数年は、ネットニュースのために
記事を書くのです。
ネットニュースの記事を書く部門が、
独立するようになるのです。
紙の雑誌の編集部は、その雑誌のブランドを
意識しています。
ところがネットの記事の専門編集部は、
PV数のみが存在意義です。
PV数を稼げるネタは「芸能人」の
スキャンダルです。
薬物、不倫、離婚が後追いもしやすく、
簡単に記事にできてしまいます。
不祥事を起こした芸能人の
「関係者」といって話をする人間は
いくらでもいるのです。
しっかりと足で稼ぐ報道は
コストがかかります。
何人もの人間が、何日もかかって
取材をしなくてはなりません。
取材から得た事実による記事が
PVを稼げるとは限りません。
そうなるとコストがかからない
お手軽な記事に逃げることになります。
「報道」とは言えない理由です。
出版業界の落ち込みが止まることはありません。
先日もKADOKAWAの「東京ウォーカー」の
休刊が発表されました。
休刊はしても、「ウォーカー」という
名前はブランドです。
KADOKAWAも「ウォーカー」ブランドを
「ウォーカープラス」というサイトで
活かしています。
派生誌の「ラーメンウォーカー」などを
出しています。
今回の「AERA.dot」の記事は、
AERAというブランドをけがしてしまいました。
出版業界があたらしい金脈をみつけるまで、
