異業種の商材が好きかどうか
扱う商材が好きかどうかは、仕事に熱中できるかどうかの重要な要素です。
私自身、出版の仕事が本当に楽しかったですが、メーカーとITはそうでもありませんでした。
好きなものを売っていれば、その仕事についてずっと考えていられるので、アイデアもたくさん出すことができます。
結果、たくさんのトライ&エラーを繰り返すことができて、結果を出すことができるのです。
反面、あまり興味のない仕事はどうなのか？
営業マンであれば売ること自体が好き、という気持ちは多かれ少なかれあると思います。
ただ、あまり熱中できていないと、仕事の時間以外は仕事をしたくない！ 早く休みにならないかな！ 土日は仕事のことは一切考えない！
という気持ちになります。いやいや仕事をすると、当然ですが、結果もでなくなります。
昔からある言葉で「好きこそものの上手なれ」と言いますが、至極まっとうなことを言っています。
働いてみないと好きかどうかは分からない！ と思う人は、自分の適性を棚卸ししましょう！

業績は、とても大事です。
当たり前なのですが、転職することが頭の中でいっぱいになると、実は忘れがちになってしまいます。
転職を考えている会社全体、あなたが配属されるであろう部署の業績を確認しましょう。

営業マンとして転職する場合、結果を求められます。業績のわるい会社や部署の場合、社内でいちばん叩かれるのは営業マンです！
売上を伸ばすために、いままで取引のない会社や業界にテレアポをやれ！ 新商品を考えろ！ １日200コール電話しろ！ となります。
売上がこれからどんどん伸びていくのなら、テレアポもやりがいがあります。
つまり将来性です。伸びていく仕事はとても楽しいです！ やればやっただけ、結果がともなうからです。営業マンは結局、売上がすべてを救います。
この商材は興味がない！ といった悩みも、たくさん売れてお客様の笑顔が伴えば、興味のなかった商材も好きになるかもしれません。
ただ私の場合は、興味のない商材で大きな結果を出すことができても、あまり高揚感は感じられませんでした。
出版社の時は自分が売るのを仕掛けた本がAmazonで1位になったり、100万部売れたりすると、気持ちの高ぶりがとてつもなくありました。
転職を考えている会社全体の業績、配属されるであろう部署の業績。この２つを転職する前に確認しましょう。
入社前の面接では聞きにくいと思うかもしれませんが、営業マンとしてきちんと聞くべきです。聞くことによって、真剣に考えているということが面接官にも伝わります！
それでも聞きづらい場合は、採用が決まってからとことん聞きましょう！
面接官をしていた立場から言うことですが、面接は重労働です。通常の仕事をしながらの書類選考、何回かの面接… せっかく採用した人を手放したくはありません！ なので、採用取り消しには簡単にはなりません。
会社の業績は大きなところであれば、調べればわかるでしょう。部署のことであれば、売る商材についてもです。
ターゲットの業界や顧客層、単価はいくらぐらいか、いまどれぐらいの売上があるのか？ 目標はどれぐらいなのか？
などなどです。
特にIT系でありますが、業績の厳しい部署に営業マンを何名かいれて、それでダメだったら撤退、ということもあります。
転職で入ってきた営業マンが、その部署にとって最後の砦になるのです！
つまり、あなたが売上を伸ばせなければ部署が消滅してしまうのです。

営業マンが異業種に転職することは特段めずらしいことではありません。
挑戦は素晴らしいことです。
ただ、挑戦に後悔はつきものです。どのような決断をしても後悔は必ずあります。

出版業界はここ20年以上、市場が毎年5％は縮小しています。
それでも、児童書やビジネス書に特化した版元は売上を伸ばしているところもあります。
業界全体が悪いから、その業界にいる全ての会社が厳しいわけではありません。
