主人公は川三番地さん本人。
青森の高校を卒業して印刷会社に勤め、伝手をたよってちばてつやさんのアシスタントになります。

アシスタントとして仕事をはじめますが、そこには先輩たちがいます。
ちばてつやさんのマンガは、どの漫画家より緻密な絵柄です。

パースの取り方すらわからない川三番地青年はとまどいながらも、学んでいきます。

師匠であるちばてつやさんの年齢は、川三番地さんの26歳も上です。
