お答えするまえに、「増刷」と「重版」という言葉です。
同じ意味だと思っていただいて間違いないです。
このブログでは、「重版」で統一していきます。
重版の目安
発売から10日で初版の3割の部数が消化、
というのを目安にしています。
ジャンルや本によってちがうのですが、
おおまかな目安です。
この目安通り売れているかどうか、
著者が知ることはできません。
営業部はいろいろなデータを組み合わせて、
重版を検討します。
例えば、大御所の東野圭吾さんと、
初めて本を出す小説家では、
判断が異なります。
東野圭吾さんはファンがついているので、
10日で3割が売れることはわかっているのです。
10日以降にどれだけ伸びるか？ ということが
重版の検討に必要となってきます。
初めて本を出す著者で、10日で3割売れれば、
本に力があるということなので、重版を決定するのです。
重版の仕組み
Amazonとリアル書店で、
まんべんなく売れることが必要です。
Amazonとリアル書店では、
売れ方が違うのです。
初版10,000部の本を例にします。
出版社の営業部はこのように割り振ります。
・Amazon————–2,000部
・その他ネット書店——1,000部
・リアル書店————-5,000部
・出版社在庫————-2,000部
よくビジネス書であるのが、
Amazonでよく売れて売り切れたけど、
リアル書店に投下した5,000部のうち、
まだ1,000部しか売れていない、ということです。
書店は、本を出版社に返品できます。
出版社はAmazonで品切れした場合、
まずは在庫の2,000冊をAmazonに投入します。
これも売り切れたとします。
ただ、リアル書店の店頭にはまだ4,000冊が
残っているのです。
いつか返品として戻ってくるので、
重版には踏み切れません。
Amazonでは品切れしたけどリアル書店には残っている。
こういった場合は、著名人のブログなどで本が紹介され、
Amazonだけで売れたということです。
ブログやYoutubeで紹介された本は、
リアル書店ではまったく売れずに、
Amazonでしか動かない、
ということがあるのです。

初版部数の7割が売れたら、出版社に儲けがでます。
そして、単行本なら重版の最小部数が1,500部ぐらいです。
