石ノ森章太郎さんの「二級天使」の連載が
スタートしたのは、
1954（昭和29）年12月発売の、新年号からです。
石ノ森章太郎さんは1938（昭和13）年1月25日
生まれなので、高校2年生、16歳です。
原稿料について、「トキワ荘の青春」（講談社文庫）に
書かれています。
『「漫画少年」に連載した「二級天使」の
原稿料は、一枚七五〇円だった。」
当時の物価は、
・大卒初任給が約10,000円
・たばこ（ゴールデンバット）30 円
・かけそば 25～30円
・米10キロ 765円
です。
「二級天使」は6～8ページなので、
5,000円ぐらいもらえていたのでしょう。
高校生にしては大きな額です。
この金額について、こうも書かれています。
「これは、新人の原稿料として
安かったのか高かったのか、
当時も現在もボク自身にはわからない。
それじゃ可哀想、と「少女クラブ」は
一〇〇〇円にしてくれたから、
たぶん安かったのだろうと思う。」
「漫画少年」の学童社は昭和30年10月号を
もって倒産してしまいます。
この時、寺田ヒロオさんは15万円の原稿料の
未払いがあったといいます。（こちらのブログを参照ください）

トキワ荘の家賃は3,000円でした。
また、貸本漫画の例になり単純な比較はできませんが、
さいとう・たかをさんが大阪の日の丸文庫で
短編誌に描いていたときは、
一ページ1,000円だったといいます。
ただ、これは高い方で、他の漫画家は600円でした。
