出版社に採用される条件について、新卒で就活している人や中途で活動している人から、よく質問されます。
私は零細と大手の両方の出版社で編集と営業をやっていました。実際に、管理職として面接官もしていました。
あまりこういうことは書きたくありませんが、学歴は重要です。
単純に言うと、頭のいい大学です。旧帝大（北海道大学、東北大学、東京大学、名古屋大学、京都大学、大阪大学、九州大学）や、早慶上智など六大学です。
学部はあまり関係ありません。志望理由がしっかりしていれば、理系でも大丈夫です。
なぜ学歴が重要か？ 二つの理由があります。
一つ目は、いま出版社に勤めている人たちの学歴が高いからです。
出版社の中で、表立った学閥はなくなってきていますが、同じ大学出身の人を優遇したくなる心理があるのです。
二つ目は、面接をうける学生にあまり差がない、ということです。
大学にかかわらず、面接を受けにくる学生に大きな差はありません。誰が仕事ができるかなんていうことは、分からないのです。その証拠に、面接官でうとうとと寝ている人っているんです。みんな、同じような回答しかしないので、つまらないのです。
それに、面接官も仕事でやっています。つまり、保身があります。自分が採用した学生が入社してきて、仕事ができないとなると、評価が下がります。いい大学の学生を採用しておけば、まあ無難なのです。
では、あまりいい大学に行っていない人は、出版社に就職できないのか？
はっきりと言います。新卒では難しいです。
ただ、第二新卒や中途なら、可能性がぐんとあがります！
はじめに入った会社で、結果を残してください！
営業なら社長賞を取るぐらいの売上、経理や総務なら会社の業務改善をやった、などなど、とにかく実績をつくるのです。
その実績をもって、出版社の面接をうければ、学歴をカバーできるんです。社会人として結果を残したという証があれば、面接官に「採用したい」と思わせることができます。
まとめると、新卒ならいい大学という条件が必要です。中途や第二新卒は、社会人として実績を残していれば、いい大学という条件はなくなります！
