「年下上司はきつい」よ。
ということです。「年下上司にたえられる？」と聞くと、全員が「大丈夫」というので、「現実」を伝えるようにしています。
まず、大企業で30代40代になっていると、年功序列で課長や主任といった役職がついています。役職がなくても、後輩がいて指導をしたことはほとんどの人があります。
ベンチャーの年下上司は、新卒3年目で部長や役員になっています。その部下として働くのです。
ここで伝えたいのは、年下上司が尊敬できる存在とは限らないことです。また、仕事ができるとも限りません。
20代前半なので、人間性的にも「まだ若い」と思ってしまうことが多々あります。上司とはいえ、自分の利益を優先してそれを隠そうともしません。大企業での役職者は、「会社のために」という気持ちを前面にだしますが、ベンチャーの年下上司は、「自分の経歴のために」ということを隠しません。
また、仕事ができるのか？ といえば、大手企業で10年働いていた人の方が、ベンチャーの年下上司より圧倒的にできます。
ではなんで年下上司はベンチャーで偉くなれるのか？ それは圧倒的な仕事量をこなして情熱的だからです。
なので、30代40代でベンチャーに転職した場合は、あなたも新卒の時の気持ちを想い出して仕事をやらないといけません。
「やれますよ！」という人が多いですが、尊敬できない年下上司に指示され、夜遅くまで仕事をやる！ 精神的にも体力的にも厳しいです！
大企業でやってきたというプライドを捨てるのは、想像以上にきついです。
