累計400万部を突破した「夢をかなえるゾウ」。
この本によって人生が変わった人がたくさんいます。
4巻「夢をかなえるゾウ ガネーシャと死神」が2020年7月に発売されましたが、初版部数は14万部。
本が売れない時代においての圧倒的な初版部数が、この本の影響力を証明しています。
4巻の発売に合わせて既刊の1～3巻が文響社で再発売されました。ちなみに、文響社は、著者の水野敬也さんが創業した会社です。
1巻が発売されたのは2007年ですから13年以上前ですが、再発売された1～3巻も順調に売れ行きを伸ばしています。

今回、1巻を読み返そうと思いましたが、本は既に捨ててしまっていました。

豪華にも、ナレーターを5名使って朗読しているので、聞きやすくて頭に入ってきます。
総再生時間は7時間31分です。
そんなに長い時間を聴けるか！ と思うかもしれませんが、アプリには倍速機能があります。0.5〜4倍速まで選べます。私はいつも2倍速が聴いています。
オーディオブックのいいところは、何度も何度も聴いて、本の内容を頭に叩き込めることです。
いい本ほど、何回も読みたいと思いますが、紙の本だとなかなか時間も取れません。
耳はヒマ
その点、耳は暇な時間があります。
・筋トレをしている時
・掃除機をかけている時
・洗濯ものを畳んでいる時
・洗濯ものを干している時
・通勤時間（最近は自転車）
・食器を食洗器に入れている時
・パソコンで単純作業をしている時
一日のうち、数時間は「耳が空いている」のです。

Audibleの価格は3,000円です。
audiobook.jpだと、1,870円です！
audiobook.jpでは、「聴き放題」会員が月額750円であり、これに入ると文字通り何冊でも聴けます！
ただ、「夢をかなえるゾウ」は聴き放題の対象に入っていません。「1兆ドルコーチ」もです。
「聴き放題」でビッグタイトルもあります！
残念ながら若くして亡くなられた瀧本哲史さんの作品もです！
品揃えの違い
品揃えの面からAmazonのAudibleとaudiobook.jpを比較すると、はっきりいって好みです。
聴きたい本がある時に、どっちにある確率が高いかは、ほぼ同じぐらいです。
90万部のロングセラー「FACT FLUNESS」はAudibleのみですが、
400万部シリーズの「チーズはどこへ消えた？」と続編の「『迷路の外には何がある？』 ――『チーズはどこへ消えた？』その後の物語」は、audiobook.jpにしかありません。
瀧本哲史さんのオーディオブックも、audiobook.jpにしかありません。

私はオーディオブックにハマっているので、Audibleとaudiobook.jpの両方を使っています！
子どもがいるとどうしても紙の本を読む時間がとりにくいので、耳から聴けるのはとてもありがたいです。
日本だとマイナー感のあるオーディオブックですが、アメリカの市場は1,000億円です。日本は50億円。
ただ、日本の市場もここ数年、伸び続けています。
